Aleris International, Inc. is a global leader in aluminum rolled products and extrusions, aluminum recycling and specification alloy production, headquartered in Beachwood, Ohio. Aleris engaged IAI to perform a VSE to MVS COBOL conversion on 750,000 lines of code. The conversion was an outstanding success, performed within budget and on schedule.
The Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) is a leading Washington, DC-based publisher of print and electronic news and information. BNA awarded IAI a contract to remediate 1 million lines of MVS COBOL. With that project completed successfully, BNA tasked IAI with a conversion project for 500,000 lines of code, which IAI converted from COBOL to COBOL2.
Fairfax Water is Virginia's largest water utility, serving nearly 1.5 million people in the Northern Virginia communities of Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Alexandria. On a monthly basis, Fairfax Water mails millions of bills, notices and other correspondence. IAI created a comprehensive solution for Fairfax Water that creates bills with bar codes to streamline payment processing. IAI's solution also interfaces with mail distribution equipment enabling the automatic bill stuffing process to include appropriate materials for specific customers.
For IBM Global Government Systems at the USDA facility in Greenbelt, IAI staff performed Oracle DBA work associated with IBM's Year 2000 effort.
Rich Products Corporation is known around the world as a pioneer in the frozen food industry and a leading supplier and solutions provider to the food service, in-store bakery and retail marketplaces. IAI converted DMS/CICS/VS to COBOL/CICS/BMS and DB2 to Oracle as part of Rich Products' mainframe migration to Micro Focus Server, enabling this client to transition from its mainframe environment and to consolidate its entire application portfolio onto the Oracle DBMS in a server-based environment. This approach achieved significant ROI and productivity benefits. The project was completed in less than 6 months.
As one of the leading mobile phone service providers, signing up new customers is a mission-critical business process. Sprint Nextel needed to be able to process customer applications quickly and accurately. IAI created an electronic forms solution for order entry in stores that interfaced with multiple core systems. The forms include rich field validation, conditional logic to handle a variable number of items. To support Sprint's diverse customer base, the forms are multi-lingual. In the case of pre-existing customers, the forms are pre-populated with data from legacy systems.
At TRW, IAI helped create and today maintains the Security Clearance Access System (SCAS), an Oracle-database-centered application that tracks security clearance data for one of the nation's largest defense contractors. The application consists of more than 350 PowerBuilder objects held in 16 libraries, 96 windows and 196 data windows.
