When IAI began providing services to components of what is now the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), they were separate organizations. IAI is actively engaged in several DHS components, including DHS Headquarters, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and US Customs and Boarder Protection (USCBP).
IAI helped build the DHS's electronic form program since its inception, selling and implementing Adobe software, training DHS staff, and designing and supporting electronic forms from their paper-based formats. IAI also helped DHS establish standards for the agency's forms development and assisted in building a strong quality assurance program.
At DHS Headquarters IAI is supporting the Forms Management Program by providing a total forms solution, including Adobe software licenses and annual maintenance, training, forms conversion to GPEA and ADA Section 508 compliant eForms, web development and implementation, and forms deployment.
At the US Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) and the predecessor agency US Customs, IAI successfully designed, implemented, and managed the USCBP's Web Forms and Forms Management Project. This Project included forms conversion - with GPEA & Section 508 compliance checking - development and deployment of a web site to enable access to the forms, development and deployment of an e-forms management system, training web, e-forms designers and end-users, test and implementation support, development of technical documentation and user documentation, and developer training. IAI has created the USCBP external forms utilizing the wizard-like user interface approach for ease of use. On a separate project, IAI developed a two-dimensional (2D) bar-coded form for deployment in support of the NAFTA Driver's License Program.
At the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and its predecessor, the INS, IAI is supporting the USCIS's eForms management program through Adobe software sales, annual maintenance, training, forms design and maintenance, forms management and tracking system, and forms conversion services.
IAI is now working as part of the DHS eFiling Team, implementing a web based data capture and database using the Adobe LiveCycle environment.
