Methodology and Tools

Having performed over 100 systems modernization projects in the last 25 years, IAI uses a mature approach to this type of project.  IAI’s approach maximizes the use of tools, such as those available from Micro Focus.  IAI has been a Micro Focus partner since 1997 and is certified in the full suite of Micro Focus products.

ICONS Tools

Through the experience gained over the years of conducting legacy systems modernization projects, IAI has incorporated its methodology, tools, and experience into a solution called Integrated CONversion Solutions (ICONS). IAI uses ICONS to guide our consultants through complex re-engineering and conversion projects. ICONS can incorporate the use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) productivity tools as well as our own conversion workbench tools to provide greater project economy and structured process. The ICONS methodology includes processes for:

• database and application system analysis
• a pilot project
• application conversion
• database conversion
• performance tuning
• functional re-engineering, and
• implementation.

IAI’s extensive experience in systems modernization has resulted in recognition throughout the IT industry.  Systems modernization of large, complex portfolios with unique combinations of technologies often requires teamwork among multiple vendor organizations.  Therefore, IAI is an active member of three industry-leading systems modernization consortiums:
