Cloud Engineer

IAI is seeking a Cloud Engineer to work on a high-profile and significant cybersecurity federal government contract. This is an important project for our company and will be a resume builder for you. This position likely will require on site presence after COVID restrictions are alleviated. The ideal candidate will have experience managing COTS products within an AWS cloud environment using automated and operational technologies. We’re looking for someone who has a strong desire for learning new technologies and finding solutions to problems.

Job Duties:

  • Operate the software & infrastructure within a cloud environment such as databases, CI/CD systems, repositories, load balancers, message queuing and security products
  • Champion builds, upgrades, fixes and requirements within our environments
  • Manage and maintain multiple cloud environments between Dev, Test, UAT and Production

Education, Knowledge, and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s preferred
  • Demonstrate solid operational AWS knowledge such as instance types, scaling, certificate management, load balancing and performance monitoring
  • Experience with database COTS products such as Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and DynamoDB
  • Experience with containerization solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
  • Experience with Infrastructure automation using CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Experience incident/performance root cause analysis
  • Experience building new systems and understanding the inter communications between them
  • Expert level expertise in scripting and managing custom deployments
  • Have a strong desire for learning new technologies and finding solutions to problems
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other teammates
  • Intermediate level expertise and experience in system architecture and engineering disciplines
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and strong work ethic that is proactive and self-motivated
  • Experience in product release planning and associated documentation tracking

It is a plus if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with software such as source control (Git/GitHub), continuous build/delivery (Jenkins), software quality tools (SonarQube), artifact repositories (Nexus), issue management (Jira), documentation/ collaboration (Confluence), automated testing (Selenium), and deployment of infrastructure or configurations (Ansible, Puppet, etc..)
  • Cloud networking experience
  • Experience of the cyber security domain to include: governance and risk management, compliance, business continuity and disaster recovery, encryption, software development security, access control, network security / secure architecture, and security operations
  • Relevant AWS Certifications is a plus
  • Familiarity with DoD STIGs, SRGs, etc. is a plus
  • Experience working in a Federal Government IT environment
